Happy Birthday...to ME!

I'm three today, and while I haven't been timely with most of my recent blog posts, this particular mile-stone I'm not about to miss talking about!

It's been a busy third year - a new sibling (she's great), a new cousin (he's pretty cool too), a new uncle (now I can really call him "Uncle" Billy), a trip to Florida (I miss the beach!) and, as Baba says, the best is yet to come!

We had all types of family in town for my party (including Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Brooks all the way from South Carolina and Uncle Patrick and Funita all the way from Madison, WI!). I had my birthday party at school too with all of my friends Friday (some rather amusing video of that forthcoming). And, at my request, Baba made me a PURPLE cake. It was delicious! I got toys, clothes and...a BIG WHEEL (my feet can't quite reach the pedals, but we're working on a solution to that).

Here's wishing all of you a happy May and wishing me many, many more..."the best is yet to come."

...and down we go...

My Cousin Jack was here for my birthday and helped me take a wild ride (actually, several) down the hill in our backyard. In fact, the vehicle (it's like a four-wheel bike) was a gift for my birthday last year from Cousin Jack (and Aunt Michele and Uncle Mark). That hill is so cool!!! How many two-year olds have what amounts to a roller coaster ride in their back yard!?!?! Here's some video. What a great birthday!

Party, party, party (and cake!)

Everyone came to East Greenbush for my second birthday party Saturday. Folks from Rochester, Oswego, Buffalo and various parts of Connecticut all converged to celebrate my turning two. The weather was a little all of the place - it was raining one minute and super sunny the next - but we all had a great time! I got lots and lots of gifts. The two biggies were a kitchen (from Grandma and Papa Eddie) and a table and chairs (from Yiayia and Papou). Mommy and Baba, of course, remodeled the basement...turning it into a play room (that's an AWESOME gift).

The Party Continues at School!

The party continued at school (check out the video of my friends signing happy birthday to me) where we had cupcakes and juice. Sugar - YUM! It was a fun time. Ms. Megan and Miss. Erica gave us hats and noise makers. Mommy and Baba even stopped by and surprised me. What a great day (so far), and the evening is still young!

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

Yep, I'm two today! Crazy how time flies. Mommy made a yummy breakfast this morning and I'm having a cupcake party at school this afternoon.

Baba tried to sneak balloons for my birthday party into the house this morning, but I caught him! Nice try, Baba. No fooling me.

Stay tuned to my blog for continuing coverage of "Katerina Turning Two."

It's Official: I'm One!

Today's the day. At 11:05am a year ago, I arrived! As Baba likes to remind me, that's exactly when the world became a much better place. Happy to help, Ba! I can also tell you, for the record, that I can legitimately walk. Not sort of walk, but really (really!) walk.

So, here's to my first year full of discovery and the next year full of adventure.

Love you all who have kept up with me on my blog. Keep on reading, the best is yet to come.

Party, party, party!!!

Yesterday we celebrated my first birthday! My actual birthday, as you know, is this Thursday, but Mommy and Baba wanted to celebrate on a weekend (and the next two are basically "booked" with Theo Strat's graduation from grad school and Uncle Patrick's graduation from college). So...Saturday was PARTY time!!
Yiayia, Papou, Grandma, and Papa Eddie were here. Aunt Aileen, Uncle Billy and Aunt Meghan also came. It was a beautiful day (in the 80s), the sun was shining and Baba had the grill going. On that grill - Zweigle's hot dogs from Rochester - super yummy...I love hot dogs. That said, I've been told in no uncertain terms that hot dogs are a "treat" and not a daily menu option (which stinks, 'cause as I said, I LOVE hot dogs!).
After we all ate lunch, I opened my presents (lots and lots of clothes and toys, even a special package from Aunt Diane and Uncle Marky and my friend Wilson). After I opened all of my gifts we had birthday cake. Believe me when I tell you, this was a serious birthday cake. In fact, so serious, that Baba made it himself. Seriously, my Baba made this cake from scratch - every bit of it - the cake, the frosting, the filling. It was delicious!!! What a party.
